Fairlington Moments Program Release Form

I (the donor) hereby give and grant to the Arlington County Public Library all my rights, literary, property, title and interest in this ‘Fairlington Moments’ submission prepared for the purposes of use by the Fairlington Historical Society in website, newsletter, publication, or any other manner approved by the Board of Directors and for deposit in the Arlington County Public Library.

This donation is made subject to the following terms and conditions:

  • Title to the material transferred hereunder and all literary, copyright, and property rights, will pass to the Fairlington Historical Society upon electronic, written, or other submission, and to the Arlington County Public Library upon delivery of this material into the physical custody of a staff member of the Department of Libraries of Arlington County.
  • All donor rights, title and any interest in copyright in said work and more particularly the exclusive rights of reproduction, distribution, preparation of derivative works, public performance and display shall transfer to the Fairlington Historical Society and, upon transfer, to the Arlington County Public Library.
  • The donor’s heirs and legal representatives retain the right to use in any form the statement and facts contained in the ‘Fairlingon Moments’ submission.
  • It is the wish of the donor to make the material donated to the Fairlington Historical Society and the Arlington County Public Library by the terms of this instrument available for research and educational purposes, and for any general use at the discretion of the Director of the Department of Libraries of Arlington County, including the right of researchers to publish quotations from, or to cite the ‘Fairlington Moments’ submission.
  • Notwithstanding any condition to the contrary, an edited ‘Fairlington Moments’ submission which is the subject of this agreement may be produced at the discretion of the Fairlington Historical Society and the Director of Libraries of Arlington County. In the event that such a document is produced, reasonable attempts shall be made to provide the donor with a copy for the purpose of correction, and reasonable attempts shall be made to provide the donor with a copy of the final revised submission, if produced.
  • The submission which is the subject of this agreement may be used subject to the following condition(s). If there are none, the donor shall agree:
